My Green Dreams for 2012

8. januar 2012

So, the first week of 2012 is already over. For me, this week has more or less been the dream week of my life, where I’ve been able to listen to my soul, meditate, immerge myself in my dreams and hopes for this year, and planning how to manifest it all.

I have so many golden green goals for this year. They are not resolutions, mind you, so much as visions – something to move towards to, with a clear intention. I might not get completely there, but I will grow throughout the process and have it be about the journey itself. That way, I won’t crash and burn before we see the end of February.

My main goal is to strengthen and deepen my connection with nature, in every way possible. I will make sure I’ll go for long (and short) forest walks, I’ll walk barefoot in the sand, I’ll play with my daughter in the snow, and I’ll lay in the grass and watch the sky. I intend to experience nature, and I will go different places to see her in her different aspects. I actually live only one hour’s drive from Gaustatoppen, Telemark’s highest mountain – and I’ve never climbed it. Can you believe it?

On the same account, I will also plant my dream garden this year. It will be both useful in terms of fruit, berries, vegetables and herbs, but I will also make part of it about beauty in colors and scents. I’ll have no «designer flowers», but I’ll dwell deep into the traditional, heirloom plants and flowers, and make it as wild and stunningly beautiful as I possibly can. Currently, we are only using half of our backyard, as the rest of it tends to become a giant nettle-and-mugwort bed, but this year, I’m taking control and claiming my garden. I need to live in a place where I can connect with nature just by stepping outside, and truly be at home, when I’m home.

This means that I’ll also be spending a bit time on upleveling my porch, to make it as beautiful and comfortable as I can, so me and my family and friends can sit there, sip a cup of herbal tea and behold the beautiful garden I’ll create.

I’m so looking forward to manifesting all this!

Creativity will also be a major goal for me this year. I already know how to knit and crochet, and this year I will be using all this knowledge to start creating my own clothes. I recently discovered that my favorite yarn is actually oeko-tex certified, which basically means that it’s tested and guaranteed to be free of toxins and chemicals. And it’s 100% wool, no nasty acrylic fibers in there! In addition to this, I will step up my sewing skills a few notches. Hopefully, I will be able to sew my own clothes as well, from old clothes and fabrics, or from new fabrics that I’ll buy. Either way, it’s more nature friendly than to have them produced at factories – and way more fun.

But most importantly, I’m taking a huge leap this year. Up until now, I’ve just lived my own life as quietly as I can, written a few texts here and there, and keeping invisible for the most part. But this year, I’m feeling such an urge to reach out and to be part of the greening of the planet in a much more tangible way than ever before, and I keep getting this vision about myself as some kind of forest green fairy placed on this planet to help people reconnect with nature and to grow wonderfully strong roots into the Earth. So that is what I’ll do – I’m making all myself and my knowledge and inspiration available for the service of the planet, and I’ve just launched my natural life coaching business. I’m also working on my very first program, and it will hopefully be available in a couple of weeks or so. I’ll let you know! 🙂

  1. I watched the movie «The Troll Hunter» awhile ago, which, if I remember correctly, takes places in Norway? Well, the best part about the film was the scenery. Natural Norway looks amazing! I wouldn’t mind visiting it someday. Good luck with your goals to connect with nature, etc.

(Hope you enjoy the Wild Wisdom Meditations.)

    1. Hi Grace! 🙂

Yes, it takes place in Norway. I heard it got great receptions in USA on the radio the other day, I didn’t get around to watch it until last night actually… And yeah, natural Norway IS amazing, I really need to see more of it this year! 🙂

Thank you again for your review on the meditations, I tried one of them last night, and it was lovely! 🙂

  3. It looks like you are already connected, but your ideas will take you further. Meanwhile, you are already part of the greening of the planet. Every positive thought you have, every little connection you make, all adds to the greater consciousness of us all. The turning point is not far away.

  5. You’ve already helped me find easier ways to be green!!!
My husband and I are newlyweds, so my dreams revolve around the idea of creating a home and marriage/family that is as green as possible, and constantly striving to be more so. I don’t know how to sew, and that’s my biggest regret right now- and something I intend to learn, so I can stop spending money and resources on clothing that I would like much better if I had designed and made it myself!

    1. I’m so glad to hear that! 🙂 Yeah, it would be so fun to design and sew clothes! Which reminds me: I have to see if there are any courses or anywhere I can go to learn this properly!
